Only Kisite is a National Park, Mpungunti is a marine reserve, both covering 39 km2. Underwater, fauna is exceptional: dolphins, colorful fishes (clown fish, parrot-fish…) swimming into turquoise water, the clearest of the coast, and sometimes few whales… The ocean floor observation is done in low tide, because the visibility is better. Please, do not use palms, you could damage corals.

Malindi - Watamu
Malindi Marine Park: It is about 118km from town. It is gifted with superb coral reef gardens, lagoons, sea grass beds, mangroves, mudflats, high fish diversity and marine mammals. Watamu Marine Park is therefore a good alternative in this case. Watamu Marine Park: It boasts coral gardens that are merely 300 m from the shore and houses over 600 species of fish. You can also see turtles and other magnificent sea-creatures. It is a wonderful marine park where also big fish clubs are very well-known.
